This year, we are thrilled to introduce our Young People's Camp Co-Directors (YPC Co-D's), Max Solomon-Frye and Jay Blanchette, who will be at the helm of the Rowe summer camp, steering through a season filled with excitement and memorable experiences.
Max Solomon-Frye: A Passionate Pathfinder
Max first set foot in Rowe as a Junior High Camper in 2014 and has returned to the UU camp in Rowe every summer since. From being a Counselor-in-Training to a Senior High Camp Spirit, Max's journey embodies a deep-seated love for everything that the Rowe summer camp stands for. His enthusiasm isn't just for the fun and games but for the profound moments of learning and connection that make Rowe unique.
A Moment to Remember
One of Max’s fondest memories involves the simple yet profound act of sitting in the chapel, sharing thoughts and feelings, a tradition that deeply influences his approach as a Co-D. Max reflects, “It’s about creating a space where every camper feels valued and heard. I want camp to be a place where their uniqueness is not just recognized but celebrated.”

Jay Blanchette: An Advocate for Outdoor Adventures
Jay, embracing their role with open arms, has been part of our UU camp in Rowe since they were 15. Their journey from camper to co-director has been fueled by a love for nurturing safe, inclusive, and vibrant camp environments. Outside of camp, you might find Jay exploring the woods or immersed in the quiet world of a library.
