Embodied Storytelling: Writing for Page and Stage

Many writers focus on sitting down and thinking of something to write on the page. That’s great, but the body can inform you of stories and feelings that might have been dormant for quite some time and are longing to be revealed. What if you allowed your body to speak? What would it have to say? The body doesn’t lie. The body knows the truth. Your stories are alive in you. You embody your stories.

Ann is an award-winning solo writer and performer who creates her solo shows by writing and improvising on her feet, using both mind and body. In addition to performing, Ann is passionate about empowering people to write and share their stories.

In this four-part “previously recorded”online workshop, she will teach you to express the dynamic range of feelings, sensations, and stories that reside within you. Through writing exercises, improvisation and movement you’ll expand your creative range and gain the ability to trust your creative impulses, embracing all of who you are. Each session will offer the participants an opportunity to play with emerging stories in small, supportive break out rooms.

This workshop is open to anyone, regardless of writing experience, who wants to discover and express the story that lies within them.
