A Place for Every Camper
At Rowe, we believe every young person deserves a summer where they can be fully themselves. Camp is a place to make friends, try new things, and feel at home, and that starts with knowing you belong.
Our Commitment to Inclusion
Rowe is rooted in Unitarian Universalist values, including the inherent worth and dignity of every person. We put those values into practice every day. Campers of all identities, backgrounds, and experiences are welcome here, and we work hard to make sure each one feels seen, respected, and cared for.
Supporting LGBTQIA+ Campers
LGBTQIA+ campers are welcomed and celebrated at Rowe. We respect every camper’s name and pronouns, and our staff are prepared to step in when language or behavior makes anyone feel unsafe. Our goal is simple: a camp where every camper can relax, have fun, and be who they are.
For parents and caregivers, we know sending your child to camp takes trust. We’re always glad to talk through any questions or concerns before the summer begins.
Gender Neutral Cabins Available
Rowe pioneered gender neutral cabins in 2015, and we continue to offer them for campers who would feel most comfortable in that setting. Families can request this option during registration. We handle cabin placements with care and privacy, and we’re happy to talk with you and your camper ahead of time about what to expect. Boys and girls cabins are also available for campers who would prefer that option.
Our Staff
Every Rowe staff team includes LGBTQIA+ representation. We think it matters for campers to see adults who reflect their own identities and experiences, and for every camper to learn from a staff team that models respect and openness. Our staff complete pre-camp training in inclusion, safety, and supporting campers of all identities before the season begins.
