Generations of Rowies
“Last year was my son’s first year at camp. He came back with a new appreciation for himself and others. It was an experience that he will never forget.”
— JHC Parent
“The years my son has attended camp, he has always shown great strides in maturity and self-confidence. He has gained social skills that have helped in school and home life. We particularly appreciate how the camp has taught about gender and sexuality. The time away from computers and other electronics has been vital for him. He can’t stop talking about how thrilled he is about the coming summer.”
— Former Camper
“Rowe has become such a haven for me that even thinking about my time there has managed to make me relax after a stressful event. I’m grateful that I continue to have the opportunity to come somewhere that I really feel I belong.”
— Former Camper
“For the past couple of years, Rowe has been a place of love, support, and wonder for me. Every year I feel immediately welcomed when I get to camp, and dread having to leave. I have met several amazing friends that I am still in contact with through Rowe, and some of my happiest memories were made there. Everything from the staff, to the campers, to the food is absolutely terrific. There are so many things I would never have tried and people I would never have met if I had never been to Rowe, and I treasure the fact that I have had an opportunity to do so. I want to rejoin the amazing community at camp as well as once more experience the many amazing and unique things Rowe has to offer.”
— Former YPC 2 Camper
“The camp practices independent individual choices to a healthy extent and makes us feel important even as we continue to develop in character. Camp allows us the fun we seldom get elsewhere. … I value the benefits of being around people my own age as it allows me to hear views different, similar, and equally as valuable as that of my own. Young adults socializing moves us forward as individuals.”

“My son has been to Rowe for the past 2 years and “LOVES IT!” After the first week he said, “That was the best week of my life.” He struggles socially to fit in, but he really feels himself at Rowe and looks forward to it all year.”
— Former YPC 2 Camper
“We are totally committed to giving our daughters every opportunity to be self-assured, well adjusted, compassionate, successful human beings and Rowe is an integral part of this recipe. We look forward to seeing who they become and watching the gifts of Rowe blossom from within them.”
— Former JHC Parent
“My daughter attended last year and absolutely loved it. She never felt homesick and came home talking about one day being a CIT and how it might be hard to attend her Sr. year but she could work there while in college. I was actually a bit surprised at how strong her Rowe identity was!”
— Former JHC Camper
“Rowe Camp is one of the most special places to me. I can say a lot of things are dear to me and mean it, but there is nothing else that I truly love unconditionally (other than my own home and family.) Knowing that I have a place that I can go to every year and hold onto throughout my life gives me a feeling so indescribably amazing.”
— Former Camper
“My son walked to the car on the last day of camp, talking about how much he was looking forward to coming back the next summer. He discussed his experiences non-stop, and was open and excited to share. This is unusual for him and I felt that it really spoke to how much of an impact Rowe had on him. It has only been the two of us, and it means so much to me that Rowe has filled a place in his heart with connections, nature, and new experiences. It is a place for him to explore more of who he is, and who he wants to become.”
— YPC Parent
“My son comes back home from camp, happy, inspired, connected and (in the best way) dirty and exhausted! He can’t wait to see his Rowe friends again.”
— YPC Parent
“Every summer I learn more about myself than I do during the rest of the year. My own self-reflection and community engagement at Rowe Camp has healed me immensely through this transitional time between adolescence and young adulthood. I feel empowered and excited about the world because of Rowe. Rowe has taught me three of the most valuable things someone can strive to have in my view: self-love, finding the edge between self-care and community engagement, and lastly the act of questioning everything. My heart lives at Rowe and each summer the love that lives in the cabins, in the Rec Hall, and in the forests surrounding the camp is refilled inside of me to be spread out to the rest of the world.”
