Camp Within Reach

Rowe offers a protected, nonjudgmental space where young people—the leaders of tomorrow—are unafraid to relate and connect in community by learning to interact in caring, thoughtful ways that honor the principles of social justice. We are committed to making this experience accessible for everyone.

Woodside Campership Fund

Since 1924, Rowe Camp has been touching the hearts and souls of young people, because it’s a place where young people and their culture are respected. The invitation at the heart of the camp is to form deep connections; to be honest, real, and authentic; and to accept and respect ourselves and others.

We believe that this experience should be available to all children. For as long as Rowe has been in existence, we have provided scholarships in order to make camp accessible for children of families at all income levels. In 1999, we broadened that vision to intentionally create a program that would build a camp community that reflects the diversity of our society. Each year, Rowe allocates between $10,000 and $50,000 in financial aid based on enrollment.

The Woodside Scholarship Fund is a program for our youth summer camps. It is made up of two components: the Woodside Diversity Program and the General Scholarship Program.

Woodside Diversity Program

The Woodside Diversity Program provides full scholarships to campers from historically underrepresented communities, ensuring that Rowe’s programs are accessible to all young people regardless of background.

General Scholarship Program

The General Scholarship Program provides scholarships to families with demonstrated financial need, supporting economic diversity and ensuring that cost is not a barrier to the Rowe experience.

How to Apply

Financial aid is awarded on a first come, first served basis, so we encourage families to apply early.

  1. Apply for aid while enrolling, using the enrollment link on our website.
  2. Our Camp Coordinator will contact you with next steps.
  3. Once your application is reviewed, aid will be allocated if funds remain.

If our aid funds run out, we don’t stop there. We’ll work with your family to connect you with local resources and grants to find another way to get to camp.

“At Rowe… I learned how to accept others for who they are on the interior, regardless of anything else about them. From this acceptance sprung a new sense of self I had never known before. I was learning about myself, my thoughts, my dreams.”

“Rowe Camp is one of the most special places to me. I can say a lot of things are dear to me and mean it, but there is nothing else that I truly love unconditionally (other than my own home and family.) Knowing that I have a place that I can go to every year and hold onto throughout my life gives me a feeling so indescribably amazing.”

— Former Woodside Camper

“I know that people do not accept everyone everywhere. I know it’s very difficult for people to treat each other with respect. But I know I can make a difference, and I can bring Rowe home with me, and the fact that I am myself makes me unique.”
