Our bodies hold the wisdom of the stars, guiding us to a freedom as vast as the sky.

October 4-6

Bones Made of Stardust

Radical presence through movement and writing.

Our bones know the stars, so we trust we will know a freedom as wide as the sky.

As the world changes so dramatically we are tasked with the enormous responsibility of remaining present to the world as it is, which requires us to remain present to ourselves as we are. From here, the way forward becomes possible. Let's feel that and gently and spiralingly write from there, as we practice radical embodiment in our tender and holy bodies.

In this uniquely substantial weekend immersion, noted embodiment teachers Abigail Rose Clarke and Patty Townsend will shepherd you towards a lived wonder by inhabiting your body in new ways with your breath far beyond any notion of any “right way” to breathe or that any singular location must be filled or emptied to somehow finally be you or embodied. Let's be curious together to breathe into the body you have and as it is and then see what emerges when open and curious and simple writing propositions meet this gentle reflecting body in the autumn beauty of Rowe.

No need to be a mover of any kind or experience. If you have a body then you are qualified. And you don't need to identify with being a writer of any kind.

  • Mornings: Embodyoga® with Patty Townsend — being, breathing, and gentle movement for everyone
  • Afternoons: Embodied writing practice with Abigail Rose Clarke
  • Evenings: journey into your own cells and inner space with somatic meditations, led by both Abigail and Patty
  • With plenty of time to relax and enjoy the wild beauty of Rowe.

Patty Townsend is the founder of Embodyoga®, an inclusive and fully embodied approach to yoga developed out of over 50 years of dedicated practice and 20 years of intimate study with her current teacher Bonnie Bainbridge Cohen.

Patty's breath and awareness centered approach incorporates a deep understanding of how Awake-Alive-Intelligence expresses through the body-mind shaping our perceptions and experiences. Patty embodies a strong understanding of yoga philosophy and encourages deep inquiry into all things personal and universal. She is an expressive and joyful teacher and her offerings are the culmination of a lifetime of serious practice and inquiry.  You can follow Patty's work through her substack.

Abigail Rose Clarke is a somatic facilitator, author, and artist. She is the creator of The Somatic Tarot and The Body Oracle decks, and the author of Returning Home to Our Bodies: Reimagining the Relationship Between Our Bodies and the World, published by North Atlantic Books. She has developed what she calls The Embodied Life Method™, which centers on the relationship between body and culture, and how we can use the inherent wisdom of our bodies to be in direct conversation with our creativity and our aliveness. When we do that, we dismantle oppressive systems and build a future that is lush and generative and deeply relational.  Abigail Rose also publishes on substack, follow her to learn more.
