The Enchanted Life: Grounding Yourself Through Celtic Mythology
Date(s) - September 7, 2018 - September 9, 2018
Dive deeply into the vibrant world of the Celtic mythic imagination, and discover a new sense of belonging to the animate Earth around you.
Enchantment is an attitude of mind that can be cultivated, a way of approaching the world that anyone can adopt. An enchanted life has nothing to do with magical thinking: Rather, it is founded on an understanding of the mythic imagination as a living principle that draws us into deeper, lasting relationship with a rich, many-layered, and profoundly animate Earth. Sharon is a renowned specialist in Celtic mythology, and you’ll explore with her the ways in which Celtic myths, fairy tales, and folk traditions can help you find authentic and meaningful ways of living. Through storytelling, map-making, and writing exercises, you’ll uncover and work with the myths and archetypes that already inhabit your places and the nonhuman others with whom you share them. You’ll delve into the ways in which you can weave your own personal stories into the land. You’ll learn how to listen to the land’s “dreaming” and how to map, track, and embroider the myth-lines we’re all walking in our own lives.
