Edward Tick, PhD, is director of Soldier’s Heart, a non-profit veterans’ healing initiative. He was the US Army’s Expert Trainer in PTSD in 2012, training over 2,000 military chaplains in the holistic and spiritual response to war trauma. Ed has trained staff and conducted retreats at West Point; Walter Reed Medical Center; Forts Bragg, Hood, and Knox; Altus Air Force Base. He has written War and the Soul: Healing Our Nation’s Veterans from Post- Traumatic Stress Disorder and the recently published Warrior’s Return: Restoring the Soul after War.
Kate Dahlstedt, MA, co-founded Soldier’s Heart and co-created the Soldier’s Heart Model with Ed. She currently directs the Soldier’s Heart Women and War project, focusing on working with women troops and veterans and connecting women military’s family members from around the country for support by sharing the effect of war on their lives.
