True Colors: A Collage Studio Adventure
Start the new year with this zesty, fun, and inspiring workshop and awaken your creativity!
In this fresh approach to abstract collage, you’ll play in the back-and-forth of spontaneity and intention that enlivens the creative process as you learn exciting techniques for painting paper, focusing on color, value, texture, and pattern. You’ll create colorful collages in a variety of formats, exploring interplays of shape, scale, contrast, and rhythm as you learn to develop your personal sense of dynamic composition. This process encourages freewheeling improvisation and, at the same time, gives you solid, workable ways of thinking about color and spatial arrangement. You’ll start with easy, accessible techniques and warm-ups and move on to more challenging projects, pushing you to new levels of expression. While experienced artists will benefit from this workshop, beginners and those with only a little experience are very welcome, giving you a chance to work at your own level.
There is a $10 material fee for this program. A list of what to bring will be provided upon registration.
